Why Karen and Jim Ride an ICE Adventure and an ICE Adventure HD

The ICE Adventure trikes are the third trike for each of us. We tried out low price trikes first to see if we liked the concept. We both ended up with ICE suspension trikes that we love. We rode a two wheel tandem for 35 years but needed something that was better for aging body ergonomics. Trikes work very well for us. We love to get outdoors all year round and ride on our local Chehalis Western Trail. We see people we know on the trail and it feels like a community of trike riders. They know us from a distance because I wear bright pink and Jim wears screaming yellow for our helmets, vests, flags. We have traveled to ride trails in Idaho, Montana, Minnesota, North Dakota, California, Oregon and Nevada."

We are not electrified. Perhaps some day, but not now. We are powered by home made cookies, banana bread, and cocoa in the winter.

Karen and Jim's Favorite Trail

Karen and Jim have multiple trails that they enjoy including trails that they ridden in Minnesota and their local Chehalis Western Trail. Out of all the trails they've ridden though The Trail of the Coeur D'Alenes is their very favorite.

Trail of the Coeur D'Alenes

The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes is a 73 mile paved trail that covers the Idaho panhandle between Mullan and Plummer. The trail features 20 scenic waysides along the way and plenty of picnic tables perfect for an impromptu lunch or snack. The trail was also named one of the 25 top trails in the nation in 2010 by the Rails to Trails Conservancy. If you want to learn about this trail visit the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreations website here.

A few tips for getting the most out of your visit to the trail from Karen:

"This trail is a treasure. We have ridden this trail six times, averaging 4 days each trip and we are always glad to return. We ride the trail 'out and back' while staying in Harrison and Kellogg. There are local shuttle services.
Take the time to look around and enjoy the surroundings. The natural environment and quiet here are amazing.
One of the attractions of this trail is the remoteness. You should ride prepared to be independent with water, food, and tools for basic repairs.
Our favorite sections are between Enaville and Chatcolet State Park. The two ends of the trail are less desirable - - West end due to grade and east end dure to proximity to Interstate 90.
Kellogg has several lodging choices, including condos and Harrison has limited choices. Harrison has limited grocery and restaurant choices but is located on the lake. We stay at the motel with kitchen units and brought in most of our food."

We hope you visit this fun trail! If you check it out feel free to send us a message about! We love hearing about your adventures!
