Setting Up Your Revolution eQuad 4X4

Today we're going to be doing an unboxing and setup of our new Revolution eQuad 4x4 FS!

Once it Arrives

When your eQuad arrives, inspect the box for any obvious damages. If there's any damage to the box, take pictures of it and send it to us. As you unbox your eQuad and inspect the whole quad for any damages before discarding the packaging. It makes it a lot easier for shipping claims if we can have the original box to put it in.

Open up the box and start by removing any of the packaging pull the boom out set the boom aside and remove all your batteries we recommend putting the batteries on a charger while you're unpacking it just so you can get a charge on it while you're unboxing.

The weight of the eQuad starts out at 199 lbs but it can go well over that when you add accessories so we recommend cutting the box open so you don't have to lift it out if you do want to lift it out make sure you get some help because they are pretty heavy.

Your batteries are going to come in a box and in each box you're going to have the key in a bag taped to the box so when you open it up make sure you locate the keys so that you don't lose them first we're going to set up the boom not all of them are going to have pedals so if yours doesn't have pedals you're just going to have a bumper so on the front frame here we have a clevis pin you'll remove the clevis pin and you'll see these little notches here line up with these bolts in the front bumper.

Feed the wire in if yours has lights you'll put it in at a 45° angle set it down in place and then you reinstall the clevis pin and now under here this one has lights so you're going to have a little pigtail here for the lights so you plug that in and now if you have a pedal version this is where you'll install the chain so you want to Route the chain onto the sprocket and then you want to verify back here that the chain didn't fall off the center sprocket here. You’ll want to make sure that chain's lined up before you pedal, if that falls off and you start to Pedal it can cause some damage to the chain and the sprocket

Next up we're going to raise the handlebars up and connect the steering tie rod. There's a little quick release tie rod. You just pull the collar back, click it onto the ball joint and now your handlebars are attached.

Now we're going to install the batteries with as much power as this quad has you're going to need two batteries for the best performance, you're going to want two fully charged batteries to get the most enjoyment out of it. Take the battery and line it up with the sled and then slide it on to make sure it's fully seated and then lock the battery in place. Locking the battery on is very important because if you don't lock the battery on it can vibrate loose and also locking it ensures that it's fully engaged on the sled.

If you find that you need more power you can have up to six batteries if you have three or more batteries they're going to be mounted on your rack if you have four batteries on your rack it does take up a lot of space on the rack so we do offer a double decker rack to give you more rack space above the batteries.

Display

Each battery will come with a set of keys that are unique to each battery so you may want to mark the battery and the key so you know which ones they go to now that you have your batteries on and locked in place make sure that they're both switched to the on position press and hold the power button till you see our beautiful logo.

Here you'll have your miles per hour, your battery percentage which level power you're on and what the current mileage is on the quad using the plus and minus button you can change different levels of power level 1 is 3.5 mph level two is 7.5 mph level three is 13.5 M hour level four is 20 mph and level 5 is 20 plus.

Next we have the throttle. It's just a thumb actuated throttle so the harder you push it the faster the quad will go on the stock configuration the throttle will be on the left as well as the display you can have this on the right side if you need it.

Moving down we have a hydraulic dual pull brake with a locking pin that will control both front wheels and then we have the rear wheels on the right handlebar. If you get the pedal version it'll come stock with the rohloff 14 speed which also comes with our new and improved aluminum F length rohloff shifter.

To activate reverse make sure the quad comes to a complete stop and you just press and hold and it'll go in reverse.

If you let go it'll stop. Make sure you're fully stopped before you start going forward again. Also if you have the pedal version be sure that when you're going in reverse that you understand the pedals are going to go with you backwards so just pay attention as you're pedaling back that you're going reverse it also includes.

Our light switch here controls the front and rear lights. The eQuad will come stock with the mirror on the left handlebar near the display or there's an option for a double mirror where we will Mount one next to the rohloff shifter. Some of you may opt for a turn signal kit if that's the case you'll have another little button pad here that will control your turn signals as well as the power to the lights.

The stock Revolution eQuad will come with an upright seat that has an adjustable sliding seat this one has our recumbent seat so there's not a whole lot of setup needed aside from Raising and lowering the back a bit with the recumbent seat it will come stock with an XL boom or bumper just for added comfort with the length of the seat we also have this headrest upgrade and this headrest upgrade will come with the viz 450 cat eye tail light one of our most favorite lights the cat eye comes with many different light modes to help keep you visible in darkness.

Each Revolution eQuad will come stock with a seat belt for added safety if it's something you don't want it's just a couple simple bolts and you can unbolt it and remove it if the seat belt isn't quite enough for you for adaptive options we have a bunch more options that we're working on that we can adapt to your quad.

Prior to ordering your quad a Salesman will likely ask what your rider weight is and that's because we have a full tunable suspension with three different spring rates for the coilovers soft, medium and hard. That way we can get the ride quality in the ballpark for you from there you can adjust the preload on the coil spring to fit your preference with our tunable suspension you can adjust the rear suspension for whatever load you plan to carry or tow.

Although we only recommend a tow or carry capacity of 200 lb with that being said the eQuad is designed and built only for one Rider so we highly recommend not having any Riders on the back if you are looking for a vehicle that can carry two people we do have a couple options on our website so call us or email us and a Salesman can get you in touch with a quote if you're looking for more of a technical repaired maintenance article stay tuned we do have another one on the way.
