Top 5 Summer Trike Destinations: Where to Ride When the Sun is High

Riding a trike during the summer can be a fun and rewarding past time! One of the main challenges though is finding fun places to ride where you don't feel like you're being cooked by the sun. In this article we're going to cover some of our favorite Utah trails that are perfect for summer riding. So be sure to strap on your helmet and follow along as we dive in to some of the best places to ride when the sun is high!

Summer Riding Destinations

1. Bridal Veil Falls

- Distance 1.4 miles
- Location Provo, Utah
- Difficulty -Easy

Bridal Veil Falls is a short and simple trail that leads to the beautiful Bridal Veil Falls waterfall. The Bridal Veil Falls trail is shady and paved which makes it accessible for all. Since the trail can get busy it is recommended that you visit at off times such as during the week instead of the weekend.

Visitors are allowed to wade and play in the water from the falls so be sure to bring a swimsuit with you! The trail is open throughout the year but be sure to keep an eye out for possible closures due to weather.

2. Moab Canyon Pathway

Distance 12.7 miles
Location Moab
Difficulty Medium

The Moab Canyon Pathway runs along the southern side of Arches National Park. This 13 mile route is a paved off road trail. This trail starts at the northern end of Moab. Along the trail riders have the options to enter Arches National Park or continue on the trail.

Electric bikes are allowed on this trail so friends with power assist don't need to worry!

Virgin River North Trail

Distance 13 miles
Location St George
Difficulty Easy

The Virgin River North Trail is a 13 mile trail in St George that runs along the Virgin River. The trail allows for beautiful river views and that you won't want to miss.

Murdock Canal Trail

Distance 17 miles
Location Utah County
Difficulty Easy

The Murdock Canal Trail is located in Utah Valley. This 17 miles trail connects to multiple trails in Utah Valley. There is an adjacent paved pathway for equestrian use. There are also trailheads with restrooms and running water about every 3 miles.

Provo River Parkway Trail

Distance 15.2 miles
Location Provo
Difficulty Easy

The Provo River Parkway Trail crosses through city and country parks. At the northern end of this 15 mile trail, the trail passes the base of bridal veil falls which was mentioned earlier in this article.

This trail is primarily flat and has a few short steep inclines. Water, restrooms, parking and picnic areas are available in the parks along the route.
