Why Tyler and Mochi Love Their Catrike Expedition!

As avid cyclists our family has a diverse portfolio of bicycles in our garage. On any given day we can head to a mountain biking path, or trek the roads on a gravel bike. Yes, even exercising our dogs could be done while holding onto a leash and having our buddies jog steadily beside us. 

Then came Mochi and Tyler, and a few squirrels that ran across our path.

As fate would have it, due to some overuse injuries of our own and an increase in our age we began to research some recumbent trikes. We test drove a few to see how they handled and were extremely surprised and happy to see that not only were they more user friendly for us but also a blast to ride. Who knew!

We purchased Our Catrike Expedition in May 2022 and since then the recumbent has taken us down the entire Oregon coast, up to Big Sur California and on some daily relaxing adventures. But the best part of of all is that Mochi and Tyler now have a fantastic daily routine, and because we are all near ground level while riding, flying over the handlebars and going to the emergency room is a thing of the past!

Every day Tyler, our Shepherd mix logs 2.5 miles at 4 mph and Mochi, our half Husky half German Shepherd, who we couldn't  keep up with before, logs 4.5 miles at 12-15 mph. They can’t wait to get out there! It is the highlight of both their and our day.

We all love our Catrike Expedition! It's fantastic and it makes us all smile. The amazing thing is that we learned Recumbent trikes are not just for those who can’t ride upright bikes anymore, they're a fantastic addition to a bike family, especially if you want to enjoy a ride with your furry friends.
